Welcome to the STEMIT Learning Centre

Aims and Aspirations
Nationally the number of students choosing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is steadily declining. In order to boost the UK economy there needs to be an increase in STEM students.

The STEMIT Learning Centre delivers to our students exciting and innovative lessons and initiatives in order to engender a passion for these curricular areas, and by doing so, help provide UK industry with the future talent for a healthy economy.

We aim to provide educational added value and more career choices for our students, by demonstrating to them, the relevance of STEMIT in today’s world and the superb opportunities it offers. To my knowledge, we are the only school in the country with a STEMIT Learning Centre. It is a new and exciting time for us.

Initially, we are developing links with national initiatives like Stemit and Stemnet to develop a portfolio of support for us as teachers to facilitate the enrichment and extension of our students. These partnerships will enable us to match our specific STEM needs with the opportunities and activities to support the development of key skills for our young people.

The departments of Science, Technology, Maths and IT all have strong teams that are designing their curriculums around the needs of their students. Please visit the relevant pages of our website to find out how.
