Dear Miss Peak

I am writing to thank the pupils of Upper Shirley High School very much indeed for the most generous cheque of £494.95 for the Young and Powerful Initiative in South Rwenzori, Uganda. I understand the money was raised at the Village Fayre last year. It is really most kind and will be so much appreciated by our colleagues living and working there.

The Young and Powerful Initiative Youth Hostel is coming on apace, as you can see from the photos taken this last February. Windows and doors are now going in at the unfinished end of the building and the plasterwork is being progressed. I know your money will go to help enormously in getting this building up and running. The Ugandans are so resourceful and are already using the completed end of the Hostel, but the young people are crammed in there! To be able to provide more beds will be a great step forward. The young people will benefit so much from the courses in life skills, health education and all that they are being taught.

Sorry that we don't yet have any photos of the children wearing the football shirts but if we get any in the future we will of course pass them on.
