Duke of Edinburgh Award Year 9.

Deadline: Friday 10th February (half-term)

You must submit a plan that shows you have researched the award and thought about what you are going to do for your voluntary, physical and skill sections.

Go to:
www.dofe.org - Doing your DofE - Activities (sections)

Look under: Volunteering / Physical / Skills and Activity Ideas.

You can e-mail or give a written outline of your intentions to Mr Perry (Martin.Perry@ushschool.org). If you require any assistance, it is up to you to contact a member of DofE staff who will only be too glad to help.

There is no guarantee of a place on the scheme, but this task is your first step towards doing so.

General points to consider:

  • Your need to consider the time each section will take and how you will be assessed.
  • The award is a wonderful experience but be careful of over committing yourself and potentially letting friends down.
  • There is a financial commitment to doing the award, about £15 registration, £20 - £30 for training / expedition weekends along with basic kit (boots, rucksack, sleeping bag)
